Population

Any community is usually a product of its environment and the size of the population of Fincham shows only very gradual increase until the beginning of the 19^th century, however between 1800 and 1861 the population of the parish increased by more than 60% as the growing populations of the Industrial Revolution demanded more food as British agriculture flourished in the years before cheap overseas imports depressed its market.
