Occupations in Fincham

1841 – 1901

These lists are taken from Census Returns, they indicate the wide variety of trades and professions that populated the village in the 19th Century. Unsurprisingly, the largest group is of course Agricultural Labourers but there were many trades locally available during this period when road travel was slower and more difficult. Clothes were made locally and food did not travel far to be consumed by the people of Fincham.
